I started working as a skin care consultant in 2004 in the organic, biodynamic skin care space, and haven’t looked back since. I love that products from the earth are just as powerful and effective as products formulated in the lab.
My love for skin care extends beyond work. I love taking care of my own skin and am religious about taking some time out of my day for self care. Sometimes, it is just 5 minutes in the morning, other times self care looks like an hour in the bath. Either way, I always use natural and organic skin care products.
A pinch me moment in my career was when I was invited to spend time on a farm, where all the ingredients for organic, biodynamic skin care are grown. I learnt a lot about biodynamic farming and how this influences the potency of the product. I also got to indulge in organic food and biodynamic wine and immerse myself in nature.
In my spare time, I love to go camping with my family. I love the fresh air, relaxing and seeing the kids enjoy themselves. There’s no rush, no plans, just pure relaxation, which is bliss. My favourite camping spot is Bright in Victoria. There’s so much beauty in every season in Bright, and some stunning wineries and boutique breweries too.
My skin care advice for anyone who is starting out:
I have a daughter who is 9 and a son who is 12 and they have both started a basic skin care routine.
My advice to anyone who is starting out, is to start simple and be consistent.
My daughter is already cleansing with the Avene Cleanance Cleansing Gel, then moisturises with the Avene Cleanance Comedomed Anti Blemish Concentrate. This helps to contain the breakouts and deal with what’s underneath the skin.
My son uses the same products as my daughter, but nowhere near as diligently!
